My name is Frank Thompson and I am the site’s administrator (i.e. webmaster). This site was created February 19, 2010 and is dedicated to the preserving and sharing of Logan County History and Nostalgia. Foremost, this is a community website and is a collection of articles and photos owned and shared via a community of authors and contributors. Everyone is welcome to share their photos, memories, stories and articles on this site.
This site was also created to help reconnect Logan County family and friends we’ve lost in touch with and to help us make new hometown friends.
I absolutely love Logan County and enjoy reading about Logan County, West Virginia history and nostalgia. I wanted to create a community site where friends and family can come together to share and discuss our hometown memories and history; a site where everyone is welcome to share their photos and stories.
If you have enjoyed this site, it’s because of the contributions of visitors like you. You can help also by sharing your memories, vintage photos and historical articles as well. If you post a story or article, your post will have its own Comment Section whereby your readers can comment on and discuss your article with you. You and your readers can also use the social icons at the bottom of your page to easily share your post with friends on Facebook and Twitter, etc. You do not have to know anything about creating a web page. Simply write your story or article and email it to me. I will act as your personal webmaster and do my best to ensure that your page is to your satisfaction.
What to share? Virtually any old photos or tidbits of history or nostalgia about Logan County WV or the nearby counties that you feel are worthwhile sharing is okay. For example, you can post an article about your childhood memories, family’s genealogy; old family photos; stories about your grandparents; old school pictures and memories or class reunions pictures, etc. Articles about the history of Logan County are especially welcome.
Since this is a community website, class reunions and family reunions/picnics notices can also be posted on this site. After the “Reservation Date” or the “Reply by Date” expires, the post no longer serves a purpose and will be removed.
Posting Guidelines
Posts consisting of only a paragraph or so are published on the Tidbits Page. Longer articles have a separate page dedicated to each.
You can write an article using your real name, a pseudonym or you can remain anonymous. The choice is yours. Your email address will not be displayed unless you state that you want it to be. If you have a website, you can also include its link. After your post is published, you will continue to have the opportunity to make changes by submitting your revisions to the webmaster.

Submissions containing inappropriate language or inflammatory statements, etc. will not be accepted. Ensuring that posts and pictures submissions do not violate any copyright issues is the sole responsibility of the submitting individual.
Share Your Photos With Us
As I said, I enjoy reading about Logan history and nostalgia but I especially enjoy vintage photos and postcards. If you own any interesting Logan County photos or postcards, please share them with us. To contributing a photo, you can email it to me. My email address is webmaster@loganwv.us.

Join the discussions on our little community by sharing your thoughts and memories. If you want a personal reply to your comment, you can insert your email address in the body of your comment. However, if you are concerned about spam and do want to use a mailto link, provide an email address like this example:

I will usually correct obvious typos and misspellings in your comments for you. You can also request a correction to any of your comments by contacting me, the webmaster.
Comments with advertisements, profanity, or personal attacks are prohibited as are political and religious comments.
Please report any comment deemed offensive to the webmaster for removal.
