April 11, 1956 – October 3, 2011
His GardenGod looked around His garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw your path was difficult, He closed your tired eyes,
He whispered to you “Peace be Thine” and gave you wings to fly. When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again. You’ve left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your family and friends, you’re always by our side.It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.~Author unknown~
Donna was a very private person and very few people knew she had been battling colorectal cancer for several years. She did more to preserve the history and genealogy of Logan County than anyone I have ever known. She lost her long courageous battle with colorectal cancer, but she was a supporter of Relay For Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
I, for one, plan to donate money for a luminary in Donna’s name to the
2012 Relay For Life of Logan County, WV
7:00 pm – 5:00 am
Friday, June 1, 2012 at Logan High Football Stadium
More information on how to donate, if you care to, will be added as it is obtained.
In the meantime, please sign this special page in Donna’s memory and tell of any special memories you have of her and/or her genealogy work in Logan County.

Donna was a wonderful friend to everyone that knew her. Personally she was a help to me many times over the years in researching my families including Browning’s where she and I found a connection. She loved her family and loved the Lord.
I will miss her.
For over 15 years, Donna spent countless hours helping many to find their Logan County ancestors. Donna started building her web pages when the internet was in its infancy and one can see the appreciation expressed by so many in her Guestbook. Donna will be sorely missed but she left a wonderful legacy in her work which will continue to assist families in their quest to find their ancestors.
