WWII and Korean War Veterans of Logan County

Logan County WWII and Korean War Veterans
Photo Gallery

The purpose of this special gallery is to remember and honor the service of our Logan County World War II and Korean War Veterans.  We owe our veterans so much especially those that made the ultimate sacrifice.  We especially would like to have photos of those that gave their life in defense of our freedom. If you have a family member that was a WWII or Korean War Veteran and wish to remember and honor them in this special gallery, please email their photo to loganwv.us@gmail.com. Preferably, the photo you submit should be in uniform and include some information about them.

    1. Arlene Esque Rounce

The photo attributed to me, Arlene Esque Rounce for Rezin Johnny Esque, is not him. Its my Uncle Eris Esque. (I also posted a photo of 3 brothers going off to war newspaper article which includes Rezin Johnny Esque and Eris Esque as well as Carmel Esque. The single photo is Eris Esque.

    1. Daniel, try looking for his service group online, they might have a Facebook site. Online search shows a few names for James, you need to know when he died. There are obits with the names. You might be able to contact his family members by reading the obits thus getting his photo.Sometimes Memorials on the Findagrave site have photos of the deceased person. You would have to know in which cemetery that James is buried. You can find this out by going to familysearch.org and finding his name and death record which will show you the name of the cemetery. You can also look in yearbooks, if you know where he went to school.

    2. Daniel, there is a website, 319th Gliderman that tells the history of the group with many photos. After WWII their name was changed to the 82nd Airborne Division. No listing for James A. McCoy.

    3. My mistake of my earlier post. The soldier buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten is T/4 James A. COYLE. He served in the 1st Bn, 319th Glider Infantry Regiment, 17th Airborne. He was from Louisville, KY. In my haste to help you in your request, I missed the correct spelling of his last name. Unusual coincidence with the 319th….

    4. Daniel, there is a Facebook site for the group. You can ask questions about photos for CPL. James Arnold McCoy. It would be great if you could write something about his history.

          1. Bob, I have forwarded your email to the owner of the website for his OK. I can’t tell who owns the photo so it’s best he make that call.
