  1. Who is the owner of these yearbook photos? I would love to obtain an image (with permission) of page 90 showing my mother, Virgilene Hatfield.

  2. My brother, Joe Piros Jr., a 1957 LHS Grad
recalls this information about LHS. The school
was built on solid ground where the old football
    & baseball fields were located.

In the 1950’s the horse stables were made into
dressing rooms for the football & baseballl players.

Before the present bridge was built, there was a
wooden bridge behind the Kroger store to get
    on & off the Island.

All of the Island is slate fill except the LHS area.
It is thought that Mt. Gay Coal Company did the
    slate filling of the Island.

Thank You for adding the Year Book. I was able to see a picture of Rowena Steele. Her father was C.G. Steele who owned the Steele furiniture Store in Logan. Also Gallipolis and Montgomery. Olive Vinson was my Grandfather Alvah L. Vinson’s sister. C.G. also had a Dairy Farm at Apple Grove where John and Resa retired to and Ollie took care of them. C.G. and Ollie are buried at Mound Hill in Gallipolis.

My late aunt Gaynell Aldridge graduated from Logan High School in 1957. She pictured in the senior page of the Logan High School year book.

    1. Darwin, my brother Joe Piros was a grad of
LHS in 1957. He is in the book.
I’ll ask him if he knew her.

  5. RE: Dwight Williamson article
1957 was a very interesting year seen on
    Facebook.
According to the D.C. of Homer H.Hartman found
at familysearch.org, Homer was killed by a friend
while they were out hunting on a mountain outside
the city limits of Logan. Homer was shot in the
    back of the head.
Homer’s father was the owner of Hartman Motor Sales
in Deskins Addition. His photo is in the 1957 Yearbook.
Homer’s Mother Alice was a school teacher in Logan.
