This is a 1912-15 listing of Company I, 2nd Infantry, WV Army National Guard.
All of this info was taken from records at familysearch.org & findagrave.com.
All of these men served as guards in 1912 at Paint Creek for 3 days.
Many of them fought in WW I.

Pvt. Mike Tarkany ( 1888-1914 ) worked as a Motorman in Holden WV for
Island Creek Coal Co. He joined the N.G.in 1912 & he was sent home
in 1914 with Typhoid Fever. He died in Holden Logan Co. WV.
He is buried in Yuma Cemetery in Yuma, WV.
Pvt. Newton K. Bellomy, born in 1891 in Wayne Co.WV. He died in
1917 in Lincoln Co. He was the S/O Oliver & Mary Bellomy.
He was sent home from the Army in 1917 due to Typhoid Fever.
Newton is buried in Goldsbury Cemetery in Lincoln Co. WV.
Pvt. Luther Scott Perry, born in 1895 in Wayne Co. He died in 1949
in Boyd Co. KY. He was the S/O Ira & Myrtiie Perry ( Smith ).
Luther was the H/O Margaret Perry ( 1900-1983 ).
Luther worked at Armco in Ashland KY.
He served in WW I with Company K 59th Inf. 4th Div. His group
was in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in 1918.
Luther is buried in Rosehill Burial Park in Ashland KY.
Pvt. Andrew H. Porter, born in 1892 in Salt Rock Cabell Co.
He died in 1937 in Huntington WV. He was the S/O Henry & Elizabeth Porter.
He served in WW I with Company F 309th Inf.78 Div. He enlisted in 1916
& was discharged in 1919. His group was in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
Andrew is buried in Baylous Cemetery in Barboursville Cabell Co. WV.
Corp. Dilver Roberts, born in 1896 in WV. He died in 1925 in Huntington,WV.
He was the S/O William & Lida Roberts ( Conn ).
He served in WW I with the 310 Inf.Regiment 78 Div.in Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
He enlisted in 1916 & was discharged in 1919.
Dilver worked for the Ice Cream Mfg. Company in Huntington. He died from
burns in an accident while working.
Dilver is buried in Mount Union Cemetery in Cabell Co. WV.
Pvt.Millard Adkins, born in 1889 in Lincoln Co.WV.He died in 1945 in Lincoln Co.
He was the H/O Rosetia Adkins ( 1889-1962 ). They owned a family farm in Branchland.
He served in WW I with Company H 28th Inf. Div.
His group was in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in 1918.
Millard is buried in Goldsbury Cemetery in Lincoln Co. WV.

Corp. Harry Bush, born in 1891 in Cabell Co. He died in 1950 in Ft. Thomas KY.
He was the S/O James & Molly Bush. He was the H/O Dixie Bush. (1899-1987).
He served n WW I in the 158th Depot Brigade. He also was a Teamster for a
Transfer Co & a Policeman in Huntington, WV.
Harry is buried in Culloden Cemetery in Cabell Co. WV.
Pvt. Claude D. Terrell, born in 1895 in Cabell Co. He died in 1966 in Dade FL.
The 1920 census shows him serving in Mayen Germany in the Army in WW I.
He was the S/O William & Sammtha Terrell ( Johnson ).
Sgt. Robert J.Terrell, born in 1887 in Ft.Thomas Ky. He died in 1943 in Kenova
Wayne Co.
Robert served in the Army in WWI. He was the H/O Nancy Terrell.
Robert is buried in Docks Cemetery in Kenova Wayne Co.WV.
Pvt. Levi Blankenship, born in 1893 in & died in 1970 in Wayne Co.
He served in the Army in WW I. Levi was a Retired Policeman in Wayne Co.
He was the S/O Samuel & Liza Blankenship ( Crockett ).
He was the H/O Lumma Blankenship ( Bledsoe ).
Levi is buried in Memory Gardens Grayson Carter Co.KY.
Corp.Robert W. Hazlett, born in 1898 in Wheeling WV. He died in 1973 in Ohio.
He served in WW I in the Army. He was a Retired Realtor.
He was the S/O Samuel & Ellen Hazlett ( Topping ).
Robert is buried in Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh PA.
2nd LT. Clyde A.Wellman, born in 1890 & died in 1959 in WV.
He served in the Army in WW I. He was the H/O Virginia Wellman ( Werth ).
He was a Newspaper City Editor in Huntington WV.
Clyde is buried in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington WV.

PFC Robert Clay Altizer from Bluefield WV. He received the Purple Heart.
A good example of the outstanding research work done at the WV Culture
Center in Charleston,WV. There is a fee
for their services, but its worth it.

was always on the wall of my Grandfather
Gabor’s ( brother to Mike ) wall where ever
he moved.
I sent his photo to the WV Culture Center
in Charleston,WV. They did the research &
sent me the Payroll list of names.
It took me two months to do the research.
There were 58 names on the list.
Those listed is all that I could find.
